3 Types of Task To Time Manage

Do you have lots of things to do?

Are you often wondering how to become more efficient?

Here's a new distinction I have been using for a little while now that has helped a lot.

There are not just 'tasks'.  There are tasks you have to do only once.  And tasks to be done every so often.  And there are also tasks that only need to be done as part of a projects process that you choose to do for whatever reason.

Thus there are actually 3 core types of task:

  • One-off - Something on your to-do list that can be done, ticked off, and forgotten forever
  • Persistent - Items that you want to repeat on a set regular basis
  • Periodic - Tasks to be done only as part of a triggered process

If that doesn't make sense, then perhaps you just need a more simple way to manage time effectively.  But if you are already deep into time management, then that new distinction between managing three types of task could well help a lot.
